What we actually store
We store one item only when you opt out of analytics:

This is the complete list. We use no cookies, session storage, IndexedDB entries or fingerprinting. If you do not use the opt-out control, this site stores nothing on your device.
Why there is no cookie banner
The rule that requires a consent banner in the UK is regulation 6 of PECR, not UK GDPR. It requires your consent before a site stores information on, or reads information from your device, unless a narrow exception applies. The trigger is device storage, not data collection, so local storage, session storage, IndexedDB and fingerprinting all count. A cookieless service is not automatically exempt from consent requirements.
Our analytics writes nothing to your device, so regulation 6 is not engaged and no consent is required. The one item in the table above is your own opt-out preference, which is strictly necessary to provide something you explicitly asked for, and is exempt on that basis.
We do not display a consent banner because the current configuration does not require one. This also avoids unnecessary performance and accessibility costs.
What our analytics does
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It counts page views and referrers in aggregate. It does not set cookies, does not store anything on your device, does not follow you between sites and does not build a profile of you. We use no Google Analytics, no Tag Manager, no advertising pixel and no social tracker anywhere on this site.
Exactly two things on this site are loaded from somewhere other than our own server, and both are Cloudflare:
- The analytics beacon, on every page. It is what counts the visit and writes nothing to your device. See the table above.
- Turnstile, on the contact pageonly, to check that a form submission is not automated. It is strictly necessary to keep the form usable, and it loads on no other page.
No other third-party resources are loaded. Fonts are self-hosted, and we use no embedded video, social widgets or advertising services.
Opt out of analytics
You may opt out of aggregate visit counts at any time. The control is free and takes effect immediately.
Checking your current setting...
Opting out stores a single flag in your browser so we remember. Opting back in removes it. Clearing your browser storage resets the choice.
Changes
We will update this page before adding technology that stores information on your device. Where consent is required, we will introduce an appropriate consent mechanism. Automated checks also detect unexpected cookie or storage use.
